Are unicorns real?

On a dreary rainy day, it gave us a great time to pull out the 'activity jar'!

Our first activity was, 'research a topic on the Internet'.
Each of my kids picked a topic. Brenon's choice was,
'how does your brain work?'
Great question, but after getting into the complex explanation of the central nervous system, I lost my five year old's attention.
Then, it was my daughter's turn to pick a topic.
Kendall's topic to research, 'Are unicorns real?'
Again, a great question. At the first google, we just found the answer No.  It was at this time my daughter rebuked that unicorns are mentioned in the bible.
So, we went to God's word for the truth.
This is what we found,

God brought them out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn.
Numbers 23:21-23
God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows.
Numbers 24:7-9

His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.
Deuteronomy 33:16-18
Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?
Job 39:8-10

Save me from the lion's mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.
Psalm 22:20-22

He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn.
Psalm 29:5-7

But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
Psalm 92:9-11
And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness.
Isaiah 34:6-8
Interesting findings and as my daughter said best,
"God's word is ALWAYS true!"

Now, onto our second activity....make colored pasta.

Camp Ta-Pa-Win-Go, First day of campers!!

Let the registration begin!
We prayed for God to send a large number of children, and He did just that!
We had over 80 campers today.
This number is up from last year at the beginning of camp by 20 campers!
By the end of the week, our total was up to 166!!

Everything seemed to flow seamlessly...
From the games
  to the pool

to arts and crafts

Even though we had more campers than expected,
everyone worked together well in helping through each step of the day.
The extra help was much appreciated especially at lunch-
Before...

During..

When we prayed for unity among our team, the Lord poured out His blessing.
I pray for our camp team, leaders, and counselors to have perserverance throughout the week, to touch the lives of these campers with Your Truth, may their lives be forever changed by your word Lord!
