From ordinary to extraordinary

Our neighbors have a 14 year old son that my 5 year old son is very fond of. At age 5, my son does not recognize the nine year difference between them. He just knows that he enjoys his company. When I asked why he liked spending time with him, he simply said, 'he is nice to me'.

This may seem very ordinary to you.
And on the surface, it may be.

But in the simple things in life,
God is at work turning our ordinaries to extraordinary!

That's exactly the case here. My son has asked our 14 year old neighbor to 'play' with him on multiple occasions. Not only does he comply, he engages with him! He builds Legos with him, he spends hours with him!

And the best part...he mentors him by showing him the right thing  to do whether it is cleaning up after himself, using manners, or showing him kindness.
My daughter has also been blessed with this same type of relationship. We have a sweet teen girl from church that babysits for us. Seems ordinary on the surface, but yet again
God doesn't give ordinary.
He gives extraordinary!

She is not our 'babysitter', she is part of our family. She is the older sister Kendall didn't have. She prays for my children and loves them like they are siblings. There is nothing ordinary about these sweet relationships.

When you hear the word 'mentor', what does it mean to you?

Think about someone younger that you could reach out to!

God gives us the wealth of experiences in life
to share with others.
Don't miss an opportunity to be extraordinary!

One generation shall praise Your works to another, And shall declare Your mighty acts. (Psalm 145:4 NKJV)
Lead, so many will follow!
